Week 1 Over!

Hello,

i just wanted to say that the 1st week of work is over. This week I was actually working on the floor with patients!! I think it went well... I am still looking for more hours so we shall see what this weeks job postings offer...

My First!!!

Hello All!

I just wanted to share my fab news with everyone... I got my 1st IV today!!! It was on the 1st attempt and it was a good one!! The patient even said that it didn't hurt.... This was after I answered her question "Have you done this before with ... Yes, I have."

My secret to finding this beautiful vein... warm blankets, knowing I had only one chance and a small prayer to the vein gods and not saying that is a juicey one out loud!!

I would like to say thank you to everyoen who has shown me small and very useful tips... I hope that most of my other IV's go as well as this one did.

The 1st Pay Cheque

It was payday today... This should be a joyous occasion but alas it was not. Now that I have an income I can say we pay a shitload in taxes and other deductions!! WOW!!! I must say I am glad I am not full-time they loose even more in tax and in LTD which for those you you like me who have no sweet clue what that is, it is Long Term Disability... Which I hope to never claim but must shell out a stink load for!! I am scared to find out what will come off when they add my union dues, benefits and what ever else they think I should pay!! All I can hope is that next pay with the extra hours that I get at least $50 more ;)

Week 1 Done!

Well here I am 1 week into my first job of my new career.

This week I spent 40 hours sitting on my ass or at least most of it there. I think that was some of the easiest money I have ever made... as I say that I know that I will start working on the floor Thursday & the days of sitting on my butt will be at an end! Until then Wooohooo to sitting & making the big bucks.

I really have nothing new to report other then I need to find a hobby. It seems strange to have all this really free time. Before it was fake free time because you always had something you should have been reading.

I have a new couch!! or I should say a newer looking couch! I just bought a cover and I must say it looks pretty damn good. I will post a picture of it. In the picture you will see my pillows. I am sleeping on it still while I wait for my new to me bed to be delivered. I am thinking this week I might get it.

First day!

Well, the first day of my new career was today. I must say that 4 years of sitting and listening to lectures has prepared me to sit still for 8 hours and be paid !!! It was quite thrilling I am looking forward to a week and a half of it!!! After that I hit the floor and it might be running!!

As I said earlier I am working on 5100 or Geriatric Medicine, because they are closing one of the floors in the hospital for renovations we are taking some of their patients who are fresh strokes!!! This means lots of lifting and mental work before we send them down a floor to rehab where my friend Nat will be working (she is in some of my pictures).

Starting to feel normal!

I just wanted to say that I am starting to feel normal... or as normal as I can be :D. If you had read the post about the RN Exam and wondered "What the hell?!?" Don't worry. I read it today and wondered what I was talking about; and I was there. Anyways thats all I wanted to say. I need to get back to cleaning the house and getting ready for my new bed that is coming in the morning if the rain holds off!!

The RN Exam!!

Good Morning All!!

Well, it is the first day after the test from hell aka the RN Exam! Holy Crap is the only thing I can say. I don't thihnk I have ever sat in one spot of sooo long 3.5 hours in the morning adn then 3 hours in the afternoon! Anywho... the deal is done and we now go on.....to working Monday!!!!!

One thing to note is the fun we had going and really coming back from the Exam.
We took Meghans car Bella a loud & big station wagon & had a blash with the about of Tim's teas we drank + cigarettes that were smoked by the smokers at pit spots & the side of the road it made for a long trip + the fact that Wednesday night we had been up since 5 am + didn't sleep well before + 6 or 8 hours of exam writing (depending on nurse) = Insane!! we laughed & then needed to pee then we started all over again!!

Now the wait is on, it takes 10-12 weeks to get the results....

I must say girls when we become rich and meet in fab places to get together and talk we will remember this day!!
